We offer a breakfast and afterschool club for children attending The Vine Inter-Church Primary School, Jeavons Wood Primary School and Monkfield Park Primary School. We also run a holiday club which all children are also welcome to attend.
All children are accompanied to and collected from their schools via a walking bus or our mini-bus. We are based in two classrooms in The Blue School building on Eastgate Road in Great Cambourne and have exclusive access to the playground and field.
Cambridge Kids Club @ Cambourne
We operate from The Blue School building on Eastgate Road in Great Cambourne. Like all our other clubs we operate the club on free Play and children have a choice on what activities they wish to participate in. We have a quite area were children can do homework should they wish too.
Meet our Play-Leader: Maxine
Club Address: The Blue School, Eastgate Rd, Great Cambourne CB23 6DZ. (Opposite Jeavons Wood Primary School)
Location in school
Parents can use the playground entrance when collecting their children. The gate will be locked, please ring the bell and a staff member will come and let you in. During the winter months the main entrance is used. Please ring the bell on the classroom door.
If you are collecting your child/children by car, we request that you park in the church carpark located next to the building.
What the club offers:
We are a self-directed PLAY based provision.
“Play is a process that is freely chosen, personally directed and intrinsically motivated. That is, children and young people determine and control the content and intent of their play, by following their own instincts, ideas and interests, in their own way for their own reasons.”
This is very different from the classroom environment, which can be (and sometimes needs to be) a very structured environment. We believe that after a long day at school or term of learning, children want to come to us to have fun and freedom in an unstructured self motivated way. Children will learn skills that they need in the growing up process, but in a different way to school.
The Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club operates from 7.30am until the start of school. All children are taken to their school via the walking bus or mini-bus
We provide a variety of cereals, toast and fresh fruit and we encourage children to have breakfast.
The After School Club
After School Club operates from the end of the School day to either 4:30pm or 6pm. All children are collected from their school and walked back via the walking bus.
We provide all children with a light snack as soon as they arrive at the club. Examples of what we offer include soup, wraps, yoghurts, fresh fruit and vegetables, squash, milk and water.
The Holiday Club
We offer a holiday club from The Blue School building. This Holiday Club operates from 8am – 6pm with a full and varied programme of activities and trips. Each week has a theme to it and the activities and outings are based around that theme. This will be emailed out to you around 6 weeks before the start of the holiday for you to book the specific days. For children staying all day, a mid-morning snack and a light afternoon snack is provided. We ask you to provide a pack lunch.

Each month we circulate a newsletter providing parents with up-to-date information on what is going on within the Cambridge Kids Club and matters of general interest.

Parents are encouraged to offer their time to take a session at the Club should they have any expertise or special interest which the children might enjoy hearing about.
