The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. All schools and Ofsted- registered early years providers must follow the EYFS, including child-minders, preschools, nurseries and school reception classes.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework supports an integrated approach to early learning and care. It gives all professionals a set of common principles and commitments to deliver quality early education and childcare experiences to all children.

CKC ensures that all children under the age of 5 who attend our after school club have been assigned with a key worker. The key worker will:
- help the child to become familiar with the setting and to feel safe and confident
- make sure that records of development and progress are shared with parents /carers and other professionals (such as schools) as necessary.
- Talk to parents / carers to make sure the needs of the child are being met appropriately
Please speak to the club playleader if you are uncertain who your child’s key worker is
